IMAGES AND DETAILS
For an abstract painting to be really appreciated by the audience it must possess some of the properties of real life. I don’t limit my color palette to 2 or 3 tints. I want my artwork to resemble in a subtle way the world we see outside.
Unlike the most of my paintings in “Color Wheel No.9” I use predominantly soft gradient transitions and less expressive brush strokes. The colors are the main focus and the patterns are more subtle than I usually prefer.
An artwork is a form of investment. It is also something that is passed from generation to generation. I prime my canvases with high quality Swedish paint.
It contains ceramic particles. This approach provides one of the main factors which assures that my paintings will last for hundreds of years.
Humans have cheekbones and eyebrows and they make the aspect ratio of our vision to be wider than taller. I want my artwork to resemble reality in a way. This is why I always prefer horizontal rather than vertically oriented paintings.
Besides the appearance of my abstract canvases I always aim for their longevity. Some of the pigments in the artwork are Titanium White, Phthalo Blue (PB15:1), Phthalo Green,
Bismuth Vanadate Yellow (PY184 G), Bismuth Vanadate Orange (PO 83) and Primary Magenta (PV 19).
Fragment of the abstract painting which displayes the area where the artist has signed his artwork. The image shows the lower right corner of the painting.
A fragment of the artwork situated in the center of the canvas. This spot displays the overlapping between 4 of the main colors in the painting - magenta, orange, greenish yellow and bluish green.
A fragment of the painting which presents a combination between different brush techniques. Viewers can see the hard edged and soft edged transitions between colors. This is the artist's favorite way of dealing with color blending.
A fragment of the painting which presents a monochromatic portion of the artwork. The spot is located in the upper left part of the canvas where the violet and magenta parts are touching each other.
A fragment of the abstract painting located in the center of the canvas. This portion shows smooth transitions between colors
